What Does it Mean, God is with Us? In today’s mini-episode we are breaking down, sin, the veil, temples, and the holy of holies. A whole lot packed into a quick few minutes. You are going to love these 2 things to help you know your strength comes from the Lord in this Wisdom Wednesday.

Today’s Question: What does it mean to have God with us?

Two things to help us remember our strength comes from the Lord.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

What does it mean to have God with you?

This verse in Joshua is part of the Old Testament. Before Jesus died for us, In the world under the old law, if you wanted to be close to God, and not in a knowing relationship way, but if you wanted to have God with you had to go to the temple, make a sacrifice and have a moment of being sinless because of that sacrifice.

God can’t exist in the same place as sin so that was the only way.

That is what made so many of the people of the Old Testament worth writing about. Joshua did have God with him. This was a big deal. He had big things God wanted him to do for the kingdom of God.

What does this mean for us?

When Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for us at the moment He said, “it is finished” the veil was torn over the holy of Holies at the temple. This meant that when we accept the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins we become blameless and guess what?? God can be with and is with us!

When you believe, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go, just as He was with Joshua.

So that leaves with two things to ponder on-

  1. How special, loved, and blessed are you to have God with you?
  2. What big things does God have planned for you for His kingdom?

As you go out into the world remember where your strength comes from.

When we say our strength comes from the Lord think about how incredibly cool it is that we have the creator of the heavens and the earth with us wherever we go.
