We can’t see Him. Seeing is often believing so how are we supposed to trust that He exists?
Just believe? A feeling? After leaving the church 85% of people who leave will leave God all altogether. How are we supposed to believe in a God we can not see?

Is there Proof of God?
In today’s world, it is so much easier to just deny God. We admire, revere, and praise those of this world that we can SEE. And after leaving the church we often vow to never believe in something again without evidence. We will never blindly believe a lie again, right?
And so we ask, how do we know to trust in His existence if we can’t see Him? What proof do we have?
How do YOU know God Exists?
And with that, we have to go to the one thing we can trust, The Bible.
It always comes down to the Bible.
Here, we learn one super cool, amazing thing-
God is all around.
How do we know this?
First, let’s look at Job.
“But ask the beasts, and they will teach you;
the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you;
or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you;
and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
Who among all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
In his hand is the life of every living thing
and the breath of all mankind.
Job 12:7-10
You see God is all around us. Evidence of Him is everywhere, in all living things.
We humans can create a chair, paint a painting, build a building, but can we make them live? Can we speak and have something come into existence? No. But the creatures of this world sing of His existence.
Job is a story of perseverance, motives, and trusting the Lord. I do invite you to read it and then read it again. It may take a few times to understand, but in it is a lot of back and forth between people and God.
And it is in this back and forth that we read about the nature of God, or more so, God in Nature.
In His hand is the life of every living thing! Every bit around us is evidence of His creation.
All Creation Calls out to Him
This brings us to the second verse where the bible tells us it is not just in living things but in all creation, heavens, and earth that God is seen. He created it all.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
Psalm 95:4-5
He is the God of ALL creation. Think about how incredible this world is! It is truly a miracle. Truly. He made it and His hand is seen in ALL of it.
God is in Plain Site
Perhaps the verse with the most straightforward approach to the evidence of God is in Romans.
Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Romans 1:19-20
Here, Paul says it frankly. God, His power, who He is is all around us, and denying it all around us is not seeing Him.

Seeing is Believing
Let’s go back to what we talked about at the beginning of this episode- the question- Can we believe in something we can not see? It is an argument that many who leave the church and leave God use.
But according to these passages are we in fact being asked to do that? Or are we being asked to believe in a God that shows Himself and His magnitude everywhere in all the creation around us?
Maybe the better question is are we seeing the God we believe in?
Because God is truly all around us.

Key Take-aways
Are we are struggling with believing in God because we can’t see Him? But we can see Him. We see Him in all creation from the animals to stars. As the Bible tells us, He is in everything.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it….
…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…“
John 1:1-14
